Stretching is an important part of any workout because it helps keep your muscles limber and prevents injury. Stretching also improves flexibility and helps get rid of soreness in muscles. But, stretching has to be done with proper technique, or it could lead to muscle or ligament tears or other complications. That is why I dedicated this page for stretching in the pool.

Quadriceps Stretch in the Pool

Quadricep Muscle Stretch in the Pool

After working out, it is always advisable to stretch your muscles. In this post I will explain how to stretch your quadriceps simply and effectively. And without the need to use any tools.
Quadricep, also called the thigh muscle, is a large, deep, and complex muscle in the anterior thigh. It extends from the linea aspera medially to the patellar tendon laterally, and is attached to the lateral femoral epicondyle and the patella. Quadriceps muscle main functions is knee extension. It also stabilizes the knee and enables us to keep our legs straight.

To stretch your quadriceps, stand with feet together. Then bend one leg behind you while keeping your hip locked and knees together. Hold your foot behind with one or both hands and pull it toward your buttocks. Hold for a few seconds, then slowly return to the starting position. Repeat on the other side.
