- Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. That is mainly because nose contains natural air filters so by inhaling through your nose you are letting cleaner air into your lungs. Inhalation through nose and exhalation through mouth also allows the air to circulate, which makes its flow in and out much easier.
- Breathing rhythm is very important. When you perform aqua exercises try to keep your breathing rhythm stable.
- Breathing order. Some exercises, like the opening and the closing of the arms, make our lungs expand more. Inhaling when you expand your lungs would put less pressure on your breathing muscles and thus make your breathing much easier.
- Breathing speed is also very important. This is related to the intensity and the speed of your exercises. Aqua aerobic exercises require faster breathing than aqua Pilates exercises for example and stretching or cooling down exercises require slow and deep breathing
