Aqua belts are flotation straps you wear around your waist to help you stay afloat in deep water. They're usually made of foam or similar buoyant material and are strapped on with a buckle to keep them snug while you move. You’ll see them mostly in deep water classes (where your feet don’t touch the floor).

The main purpose of aqua belts is to keep you afloat to free your arms and legs so you can move more naturally. It gives you that vertical position in the water, which would otherwise require intensive force, and lets you perform exercises without the impact.

Aqua belts are great for low-impact cardio, core training, and rehab work. They take the strain off your joints, yet force your muscles to work harder to stay aligned and upright. The water offers resistance in every direction, and the belt just makes it easier to stay focused on the movement instead of fighting to float.
