Deep Aqua Pendulum

15 June 2025

Most aqua exercises primarily target the muscles in the front and back of your body, which is why people end up with weaker sides. Those muscles responsible for twisting your body and leaning your torso are important for balance, stability and injurity prevention. And while there are many exercises that target these specific muscles, they aren't as powerful as those focusing on the front and back, like jogging and cross country skiing. In this blog post, I will show you an exercise that is just as powerful and effective for building strong side muscles and improving cardiovascular fitness at the same time.

Getting Started:

Put on an aqua belt or any floating device to help you stay safe and confinder in the deep-end. Optionally, you can use aqua dumbbells for more intensity.

How to Perform

Make a strong swinging motion with your whole body, kicking your legs and pushing your arms as you lean from side to side. Create a momentum using your core, not just your legs and arms. Focus on continuous smooth movements and apply force with each kick and push. Avoid bending your arms and legs too much and keep the range of motion comfortable range of motion.
